International Social Movement “Live with Diabetes”
On November 17, 2009, Prof. President of the Association for the Protection of Children with Diabetes. Koba Amirkhanashvili The International Public Movement "Living with Diabetes" was founded under his leadership.
The movement was established in the large assembly hall of the Diabetes Rehabilitation Center, where World Diabetes Day was celebrated by children and adults with diabetes, their parents, adult patients, prominent members of our community and politicians.
The aim of the movement is to consolidate the society, both in Georgia and abroad, so that the government nomenclature will pay more attention to diabetic patients in order to provide them with any assistance (provision of medicines and medical examinations, medical insurance, psychosocial rehabilitation).
The attending public unanimously elected Prof. as the leader of the movement. Koba Amirkhanashvili.
As the leader of the movement noted, this union is open to all citizens, without any restrictions under the statute. Joining and leaving the movement is free (this must be notified to the organizing committee of the movement, which is appointed by the leader of the movement).
Prof. Koba Amirkhanashvili The hall was presented with the symbolism of the movement (logo) which is an asymmetric blue circle on a white background, in its heart is also an abbreviation on a white background, "LWD" which means "LIVE WITH DIABETES".
At the end of Prof. Koba Amirkhanashvili He noted that information about the newly established movement would be sent to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and the diabetic associations and federations of different countries.
